Don Layton is passionate about helping eligible consumers navigate the complicated world of Medicare. With more than a decade of experience in the industry, he has dedicated his career to working closely with those who find this journey to be confusing or challenging.
His journey as a benefits advisor to Medicare beneficiaries began with his interest in the World War II generation, sparked by his own grandfather's service in the army as a sharpshooter. His grandfather passed away while Don was young, but fortunately there were a number of accounts that were written down. These accounts details his bravery, which merited him a Silver and a Bronze Star for his actions. He also was involved in the liberation of several Nazi prison camps. A second spark came from a good friend who had served on a carrier in the Pacific and who had many interesting stories to share. These interactions and stories led to a deep appreciation of that generation as well as that which followed. Most of his clients who fought in World War II are no longer with us, but the admiration remains. Out of these experiences, Senior Health Plan Strategies was born.
In his personal life, Don and his wife Brenda have been married for over 36 years. They met "on the streets of Vegas" and became engaged only 16 days later. They are the parents of 4 wonderful children and grandparents to 5 incredible grandkids. Don enjoys helping his clients, but when he's not working, he enjoys serving in his church and community, bike riding, gardening, pickleball and spending time with his family.
